In these terms, "we," "us" and "King Quigs" mean King Quigs Rental Services LLC. "You" means the person who books the rental and picks up or receives the equipment. "Equipment" or "unit" means the rented item plus everything that comes with it, such as charging cables, adapters and cases.
1. Who can rent
- You must be 18 or older.
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID to pickup or delivery. The name should match the booking. We may check it against the card used to book.
- The person who books is responsible for the rental, even if someone else uses the equipment.
2. Booking, approval & payment
- Booking doesn't charge you. When you book online, your card is saved securely by Stripe. Card details never touch our servers.
- We review every request. A booking is a request until we approve it. If we can't approve it, we'll let you know and remove your saved card.
- After we approve, we place one temporary authorization hold on your card for the rental estimate plus the security deposit (see section 3). For example, a 3-day DELTA 2 rental ($195) has a $445 hold: $195 + $250. A hold isn't a charge.
- When you return the equipment, we charge only what's due: the rent for your actual rental period, plus any late days or damage costs under these terms. We collect it from the hold and release the rest. Stripe emails you a receipt.
- Prices are listed on our website. We apply the best combination of daily and weekly rates automatically. Online estimates don't include delivery fees outside the I-10 corridor or any taxes that apply.
- By booking, you authorize us to charge your saved card for the amounts described in these terms.
3. Security deposit
- Each rental includes a security deposit of $250 per unit. For example, two units means $500.
- The deposit is an authorization hold on your card, not a charge. The money stays in your account. Your bank just sets it aside, and it may show as "pending."
- We release the deposit at return, as soon as we've checked the unit over. If it's undamaged and complete, you pay only the rent and any late days, and the rest of the hold is released right then. Banks can take a few business days to drop a released hold from your account.
- If the equipment is damaged, lost, missing accessories or returned late, we may use some or all of the deposit toward those costs. If the costs are more than the deposit, we'll charge the difference to your saved card.
- Card networks only let a hold stay in place for a limited time, usually about 4 to 7 days. For longer rentals, the deposit hold may drop off before you return the unit. Your responsibility for the equipment under these terms stays the same either way.
4. Rental period & late returns
- Your rental runs from the pickup date to the return date you booked, and is priced by the day. We're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so we'll set pickup and return times that work for you.
- Need more time? Call or text (850) 204-2199 before your return date. If the unit isn't booked by someone else, we'll extend your rental at the normal rate, with no late fee.
- Late returns without an approved extension are charged, for each unit and each day late, the daily rate plus a $25 late fee. For example, one DELTA 2 returned one day late adds $65 + $25 = $90. Two DELTA 2s returned one day late add 2 × $90 = $180.
- If equipment isn't returned and we can't reach you, we may treat it as lost or stolen (section 10) and report it to law enforcement.
5. Cancellations
- Cancel for free any time before pickup. Call, text or email us. We'll release any hold on your card and remove the saved card if you ask.
- After pickup, you pay for the days you had the equipment. Bring it back early and we'll charge your actual rental period.
6. Pickup & delivery
- Pickup is free. We'll confirm the pickup details when we approve your booking.
- Delivery is free along the I-10 corridor in our service area, from Marianna and Tallahassee west to Pensacola.
- Outside the I-10 corridor, delivery is $2 per mile, counted one way from our service area to your location. We'll give you the quote when you book, before we approve your rental. You can decline it and pick up instead.
- Delivery includes picking the unit back up at the end of your rental. There's no separate charge for the return trip.
- For delivery, someone 18 or older with a valid photo ID must be there to receive and sign for the equipment. The delivery spot has to be safe and reachable.
- Inspect the equipment when you get it. Tell us right away about any problem. Otherwise, we'll assume it was in good working condition when you received it.
7. Your responsibility for the equipment
- From the moment you pick up or receive the equipment until we get it back, you're responsible for it, including theft, loss and damage, no matter who caused it, except normal wear and tear.
- Keep it secured. Don't leave it unattended in public, in an unlocked vehicle, or in a truck bed overnight.
- Move it carefully, and strap it down in a vehicle so it can't tip or slide.
- You're responsible for how the equipment is used and for anyone you let use it. You agree to cover claims, costs and damages, including reasonable attorney's fees, that come from how you or others used the equipment during your rental, as far as the law allows.
8. Proper use
Use the equipment only for its normal purpose, the way the manufacturer intends. In particular:
- Keep it dry. Power stations aren't waterproof. Don't expose them to rain, standing water, pools, sprinklers, spray or wet ground. Keep them out of extreme heat and direct flames.
- No subrenting. Don't rent, lend or sell the equipment to anyone else, or take it outside Florida, without our written OK.
- No tampering. Don't open, repair, modify or remove labels from the equipment. Don't try to bypass its safety features. If something's wrong, stop using it and call us.
- Stay within its ratings. Don't plug in anything that draws more than the unit's rated output, and use only the charging methods it supports.
- Not for life-critical uses. Don't use rented equipment as the only power for medical or life-support devices, or for anything where a power interruption could hurt someone.
- Don't use the equipment for anything illegal.
9. Condition at return
- Return the equipment on time, in the same condition you got it except for normal wear and tear, with all accessories and cables.
- Return it reasonably clean and dry. Units don't need to be recharged before you return them.
- We'll inspect each unit when it comes back. If we find damage or missing items, we'll tell you what we found and show you the repair estimate or replacement cost before charging.
10. Damage, loss & theft
- Damage: you pay the reasonable cost to repair the equipment. If the repair would cost more than replacing it, you pay the replacement cost instead.
- Loss or theft: you pay the full replacement cost of the unit and any missing accessories, at current retail price for the same or an equivalent model.
- Theft: tell us right away, and file a police report within 24 hours. Send us a copy.
- We may apply your deposit to these costs, and charge any remaining balance to your saved card (sections 2 and 3).
- Rental charges keep adding up until the equipment is returned, or until you tell us it's lost or stolen.
11. Assumption of risk & limitation of liability
- Batteries and electrical equipment carry risks, including electric shock, fire, heat and injury from lifting heavy units. You choose whether the equipment suits your job, and you use it at your own risk.
- We rent the equipment "as is." We take care to keep our units in good working order, but we don't promise the equipment will meet your particular needs or run without interruption.
- If equipment stops working during your rental, call us. We'll try to swap it or fix the problem, and we won't charge rent for the days it couldn't be used because of a defect that's not your fault. That's your remedy for a failed unit.
- To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost work, spoiled food or medicine, or damage to devices you plug in. Our total responsibility for any claim related to a rental is limited to the rental fees you paid for that rental.
- Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that Florida law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for our own gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
12. Community credits
Every rental earns community credits. We pool them to provide free rentals to local nonprofits and 501(c)(3) organizations. Credits belong to the community program, not to individual renters. They have no cash value, and they don't change your price, deposit or responsibilities under these terms.
13. Our right to refuse a rental
We may decline any booking, or cancel one before pickup, for any lawful reason. For example, if we can't verify your identity or payment, if equipment isn't available, if we believe the equipment would be misused or put at risk, or if conditions such as severe weather make delivery unsafe. If we cancel, you won't be charged, and we'll release any holds. We may also end a rental early and recover the equipment if these terms are broken. You'll pay only for the time you had it, plus any fees or costs these terms allow.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. If there's a dispute, please call us first. Most problems can be worked out quickly. Any legal action about a rental will be brought in the state courts of Florida.
15. Changes & contact
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version you agreed to when you booked applies to that rental. Each booking records the version and the time you accepted it.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
